I've been very curious about this place for a while as a Sweet Tomatoes and Fresh Choice fan from youth. It's the only place within driving distance that is offering something that resembles the place I used to frequent and love post pandemic. I noticed the reviews were either very positive or very negative. And I can see how people came to both conclusions. I give it 3-3.5 stars for food but rounding up for the polite service/staff and nostalgia. It's basically a small shop trying to make tight margins out of a tough business model (buffet) in today's world. The price $18 is reasonable for what you get. The food appears clean and fresh but the issue is there is a limited selection which isn't refilled frequently and popular items are not self-serve. So it's not what people expect when they think of a buffet. Honestly, I think if they just refilled empty items more often it would do a lot to improve the experience. The food is definitely Fresh Choice inspired as I recognize most of the popular menu items - salad bar, chicken noodle soup, clam chowder, pasta, pizza, muffins, tapioca, red jello, and ice cream. The recipes aren't exactly the same but it's close enough if you aren't particular. I did not see any blueberry muffins or dark brown bread which were the main things I missed but they do a very delicious chocolate muffin. While it's not the same place of my youth, it did take me back in time which was my main intent and I was satisfied with my experience. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but it's worth a try if you are nearby and feeling nostalgic. In truth, I think the time of the all-you-can-eat and cheap family buffet is gone but I'm glad this place is still around.
Very clean restaurant with excellent service/staff. Being gluten intolerant there were few options for me but I made it work and what I did have was very tasty.
